This post is dedicated to one of the most loving and wonderful couples I know, C&E! They had a beautiful wedding this past September that I was lucky to be a part of. The gorgeous bride and groom had registered for Stasher Bags (which, of course, I was dying to purchase for them), so I know they have excellent taste in food storage. That’s why I figured they would also be interested in Souper Cubes to help complete their kitchen. C&E are fantastic hosts that enjoy cooking and entertaining family and friends in their home, and I hope The Ultimate Gift Set 4 Pack will help them with that!
Souper Cubes are silicone molds designed to help freeze your leftovers with ease. They come in a variety of sizes to meet your needs. Souper Cubes are for much more than freezing soup. They have revolutionized the way I meal prep, store, and preserve food. The amount of food waste I produce now is MUCH less thanks to Souper Cubes. Today, I’m sharing a few of the ways that I love to use Souper Cubes that have changed the game for me in the kitchen. I currently own the 2 TBSP, 1/2 cup, 1 cup, and 2 cup sizes. I note which size I use below for each.
Once everything is frozen, you can pop things out of the cubes and store in Stasher bags! Don’t forget to label your Souper Cube lids and Stasher Bags (I like using non-toxic liquid chalk markers) so that you remember what everything is and how long it’s been in the freezer.
Batch Cook and Freeze Protein
(1/2 cup, 1 cup, or 2 cup): I love to make a giant batch of pulled pork or shredded chicken and freeze in individual portions. These little protein blocks are so easy to thaw and use in salads, sandwiches, quesadillas, etc. This is a lifesaver for me because my husband is a vegetarian; we often cook items that are meat-free, and I can add protein in a snap.

Saving that Last Little Bit that Often Goes to Waste
(2 tbsp): Save that leftover tomato paste, pumpkin purée, or pesto that gets left in the back of the fridge and spoils. Now you have perfectly measured out portions to use in recipes! I love throwing frozen pumpkin cubes in my smoothies and defrosting pesto for a sandwich or individual serving of pasta.

Lasagna, Shepherd’s Pie, Pot Pie
(2 cup): Make freezer lasagna, shepherds pie, or pot pie for a full, hearty dinner at your finger tips! These have saved us on busy weeknights. These would also be amazing to bring to a sick friend or new parent in need of an easy and comforting meal. Fun fact: the 2-cup cubes were designed so that 4 can fit perfectly in a gallon-sized freezer bag. You can find recipes for all of these on the Souper Cubes website: Freezer-Friendly Make Ahead Lasagna, #1 Easy Freezer Shepherd’s Pie, Freezer-Friendly Chicken Pot Pie

Coffee & Juice Cubes
(2 tbsp): Use leftover coffee to make ice cubes for delicious espresso martinis or iced coffee! You can also make citrus juice cubes for yummy summer beverages. If I have lemons or limes that need to be used up, I’ll juice them into the 2 tbsp trays so I always have fresh lemon and lime juice for dressings, marinades, or margaritas. Cheers!
Bake Adorable Bread Loaves
(1 or 2 cup): Make precious little pumpkin, banana, or zucchini bread loaves! They are perfect for snacking or to wrap up and give away as gifts. The Souper Cubes website has a great recipe for baking Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread in the 1 or 2 cup cubes, but you can use any recipe you like (you just may have to adjust baking time).

Clean Out the Fridge
(1/2 cup or 1 cup): Stop letting those cartons of broth or half used jars of sauce get pushed to the back of the fridge to die! Freeze leftover broth, salsa, juice, sauce, coconut milk, or anything else that you may not use all at once. I like to have small portions of broth on hand so I don’t have to open a whole carton, and pineapple juice on hand for marinades or cocktails. Before I leave for a trip, I always see if there’s anything in the fridge I can freeze in a Souper Cube so it doesn’t go to waste while I’m gone.

Meal Prep Mini Breakfast Frittatas
(1 cup): Impress your brunch guests with individual little frittatas! Personalize with any veggies, meats, or cheese you like. These are also fantastic for meal prepping breakfast for the week. Of course, the Souper Cubes website has a recipe for this, too! Mini Crustless Breakfast Quiches

Save Those Greens That Are About to Spoil
(2 tbsp): Do you have a bag of greens or some fruit that’s about to go bad? Blend it with liquid of your choice and pour into the 2 tbsp or 1/2 cup molds to use later on for smoothies. I like making kale cubes by blending kale with almond milk so that I always have something green for smoothies even if there’s nothing fresh in the fridge.

Freezing Waffle & Pancake Batter
(2 tbsp and 1/2 cup): I did not know you could freeze waffle and pancake batter until I saw this hack on the Souper Cubes Instagram. They saved leftover batter in their 2 tbsp cubes and made pancakes straight from frozen in the pan. Wow! I have a Dash mini griddle and waffle stick maker that I love for quick, hot breakfasts – however, I don’t always feel like making a full bowl of batter. My Dash gadgets take 1/4 cup of batter at a time, and the 1/2 cup Souper Cubes have measurement lines for 1/4 cup, so it’s easy for me to measure out individual portions for when I need them.

You Can Freeze Practically Anything!
One time I cooked enough chicken, potatoes, and green beans to feed an army. I wasn’t going to be able to eat it all by myself before it spoiled. Souper Cubes to the rescue! Using the 1 cup tray, I froze chicken and green beans together in half the cubes and potatoes in the other (I didn’t want the potatoes to get saturated with juices from the chicken or beans – they would absorb the liquid and freeze poorly). When I was in need of a quick and healthy lunch later that month, I was so excited to all of that in the back of the freezer. Obviously, not everything can be frozen, but so much can be! If you’re ever wondering what does and does not freeze well, just Google it and you can usually find an answer quickly.

C&E – here’s to many years of happy meal prepping and freezing! I love you both so much!
